ABOUT.

Hi! I'm aimee - my closest friends and family call me aim. I live in oversized sweatshirts and correctly sized doc martens. I'M THE YOUNGEST OF FOUR, AN AUNTIE TO MY 3 FAVORITE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD AND A MOTHER TO MY SWEET MINI SCHNAUZER, DONNA. if i can diy it - i will. I love to crochet, play piano, create flower arrangements, host themed parties and celebrate people.

I WAS THE KID WITH A CAMERA, AND IN A LOT OF WAYS I STILL AM. GROWING UP, MY BEST FRIEND AND I COULD MAKE A PHOTOSHOOT OUT OF ANY LOCATION AROUND MY HOMETOWN [TULSA, OKLAHOMA]. after high school, I TOOK MY CAMERA OVERSEAS WITH ME FOR A YEAR OF TRAVELING AND REALIZED PHOTOGRAPHY WAS NO LONGER A HOBBY.

i think i fell in love with photography because it gives me the chance to help people see themselves the way i see them. like little love notes about how beautiful, fun and valuable their humanness is. This inspired me to pursue my degree in photojournalism.

Now I'm here - hopefully working with you. xo

Family

I moved to California to be closer to family - and it's proved to be one of the best decisions. Getting to be a part of my niece and nephew's lives is seriously the best. I wish Oklahoma weren't so far away, but I'm lucky to visit home to see my brother + parents often :-)

The Donna

I grew up with mini schnauzers and have had two myself [very loyal to the brand]. When I got my current dog [the grey one] I thought to myself, "what's the most middle aged woman name I can give a dog?" Thus, Donna. I love dogs so much and can't imagine life without one.

Travel

I've spent a year overseas, documenting as I go. My first solo apartment was in Kathmandu, Nepal where I spent the summer traveling around photographing and writing people's stories during an internship. Getting to experience other cultures deepened my appreciation for just how unique we are as individuals, and made a huge impact on the way I document people.

“Aimee's vision and optimism instilled confidence in us, and instantly made us feel comfortable in front of the camera.

The way that you were able to document each moment of our special day so inconspicuously yet so intimately is truly a talent. I loved that you found inspiration on the spot as we walked throughout city hall and captured the details flawlessly. Our album turned out so raw and dramatic, sophisticated and magical. Thank you again for making our day truly special, so that we can relive each moment every time we look at our album.”
